Jazz Fest 2009

The Sacred Jazz Festival will feature eight bands with public concerts beginning at 12:00 noon and continuing into the early evening. UNT's renowned  Two O'clock Lab Band under the direction of Jay Saunders will headline the event with a performance starting at 7:00 PM in the main sanctuary. The day will begin at 10:00 AM for registered participants with several master classes conducted by faculty from the esteemed jazz studies program at the University of North Texas. Committed faculty to date includes Steve Wiest - Director of the famous One O'clock Lab Band; Mike Steinel – trumpeter, pianist, composer, arranger; Stefan Karlsson – jazz keyboard Professor , recording artist and member of the Eddie Gomez trio; Brad Leali – jazz saxophone Professor and music director for Harry Connick, Jr.
